Dear CME Family,

The Women’s Missionary Council is pleased to announce that the Helena B. Cobb Scholarship Grant Application is now online and open for persons to apply! Please encourage persons in your congregations to apply for the worthy grant, and share this information widely.

The Helena B. Cobb Scholarship provides assistance to applicants for a yearly basis for four consecutive years, and applicants must apply or reapply each year. Applicants must be active female or male members of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and a high school graduate planning to attend a college or university, or currently enrolled at a college or university. Preference may be given to those attending a CME College.

Applications must be completed and submitted at the Women’s Missionary Council Web site: https://cmewmc.org.
  • To apply, click on the "Women’s Missionary Council" tab and click on "Scholarships".
  • Select "Helena B. Cobb Scholarship Grant Application".
  • The application deadline is January 20, 2020. No exceptions!
  • Applicants will receive an email to acknowledge that the WMC is in receipt of their completed application for accountability purposes.
  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your Local or Region Vice President.

The data from the applications will be forwarded to each Region Vice President to collaborate with the Region President and Local Vice President. If the applicant is selected as a recipient (and after the verification process), the grant will be mailed to the college/university in September 2020.

The Women’s Missionary Council of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church has been in existence since 1918 and is celebrating its 101st year in ministry. The Council is a viable entity to share the good news and salvation through Jesus Christ, and implement the mission and unity of the Christian Church at home and abroad using defined processes and programs. The Helena B. Cobb Scholarship was named after the first Vice President of the Women’s Missionary Council, Helena B. Cobb, as a tribute to her service to the organization. For additional information about the Council, visit https://cmewmc.org.

Thank you for supporting the Women’s Missionary Council.

In the Service of the Lord,

Ms. Jacqueline I. Scott, International President
Mrs. Calanda Foster Hunter, Vice President
